1. Please notify the United Synagogue burial office on 020 8950 7767 IMMEDIATELY. If the office is closed, leave your name, the name of the deceased and a contact phone number and your call will be returned when the office reopens..

If the burial office is closed and you need to speak to someone for urgent advice, please call 020 8950 7767 and select option 4 (this service is not available on Shabbat or Jewish Festivals, however your call will be returned after nightfall).

Kaddish for Female Mourners

WPS offer a supportive environment for women who wish to say Kaddish. If you have recently suffered a bereavement or have an upcoming Yahrzeit and wish to have someone help you to say kaddish, please email women@woodsidepark.org.uk We can put you in contact with a local woman happy to teach it to you; provide support within the shul service.

The ‘Kaddish for Female Mourners’ booklet outlines laws and customs and offers support to women who wish to say Kaddish at a funeral, during their period of mourning and on yahrzeits, as well as suggestions for alternatives.

Woodside Park Cares

If you need someone to talk to following the death of a relative or friend, then Woodside Park Community Cares is able to offer you someone to talk to who has been specifically trained to provide you with bereavement support and if they are unable to help you to point you in the direction of someone who can.

It can also offer you a befriending service as well as help and support to the bereaved and their families.

The Jewish Bereavement Counselling Service

The Jewish Bereavement Counselling Service offers confidential counselling to individuals, couples, children and families in the Jewish Community who are experiencing loss.

JBCS also provides bereavement support groups:

Stronger Together – for people (60+) who have lost a partner or spouse

Peace of Mind – for people (60+) who have lost a partner or spouse

Butterflies – for mums and dads (of young children) who have lost a parent

Bereaved Parents – for people bereaved of an adult child

Aftershock – for young adults (18 – 30 years) who have lost a parent

Stepping Stones – for people (40 – 60 years) who have lost a partner
